Basic Cloud Deployment and Initial Setups
As part of standard subscription, Oracle provisions two environments :
- Production Environment
- Non-Production Environment(For testing purposes such as SIT/UAT/Development etc.)
If there is any additional non-production environment requirement, customer need to buy additional
license for the same.
Initial Setups :
1) OIM Administrator
Once environments are allocated, client will receive an email with Oracle Identity Manager(OIM)
administrator login credentials.OIM Admin has the capability to create certain superusers.
- Prepare the Oracle Fusion Applications Super User for user management and configuration
- Provision the IT Security Manager job role with user and role management entitlement
2) Super User
Once OIM Administrator creates the super user and provisions him the IT Security manager
job role, this user can create all other implementation users (or) create a IT Security Manager
or Security Administrator who can look after creating functional implementation users and assigning
the needed roles to each user based on his duties.
- Run User and Roles Synchronization
- Create User
- Provision user with IT Security Manager job role
(More or less, OIM Administrator and Superuser mentioned here are doing the same thing.
You can skip Superuser role as per your convenience)
3) IT Security Manager/Security Administrator
Security Administrator creates all the implementation users and assigns the needed roles.
- Create Implementation Project Manager user and provision him ‘Application Implementation
- Manager’ and ‘Application Implementation Consultant’ job roles
- Create Implementation User and provision him ‘Application Implementation Consultant’ job role
In cloud, what you can access and what you can setup/perform is completely dependent on the role
that is assigned to your user. We will now talk about few important roles :
Application Implementation Manager Role - The user with this role Manages overall implementation
of a fusion application. This role is typically provisioned to the user who will be handling the overall project.
- This user is aware of application and module scope(whether Financials or HCM or SCM is implemented etc.).
- They are aware of all the available offerings for this project along with the scope in a specific pillar(for eg implementing Inventory Management/Product Data Hub modules only in SCM etc)
- Depending on the above configuration, system will automatically create certain tasks
- He can continuously monitor the progress of the tasks
Application Implementation Consultant Role - This role is generally assigned to the user who is
kind of single point of contact who fulfills all phases of implementation.He may be responsible for key
configurations, collecting data from client, Configure Setups, Testing and monitoring the progress of the
project/phase
Functional Owners - Generally assigned to functional consultants who is working on a specific module
(or) set of modules who are responsible for a specific business process/flow.
